Feeling productive today, so I thought I'd post an update. Plus, Bree is urging continuity here.
So...
Yesterday, it reached 95 fucking degrees of humid, soul-sucking... humidity. As soon as I walked out of the Red Jacket, I encountered a wall of heat which engulfed everything without air conditioning, which just happens to include my Volkswagen. The setting is there, but it just doesn't work. The air that thing blows out is even hotter than the outside air. And our second-floor apartment has those weird crank-type windows that can't accommodate an AC unit.
Lovely.
So I drove around a lot yesterday, doing the little things that need doing. Gas, US Cellular, to see about getting a job there that a friend told me about, checking E-mail, shit like that. But I can't seem to escape the ever-present humidity. Even after taking a shower, I still felt disgusting. -sigh-
Erin got out of work, and we tried to find something to do. Her friends Jeremy and Noelle were there, and they got the idea that we should go to the beach. I was simply planning on dropping off Erin at the apartment and going to Sadie's house to luxuriate under the AC, but I guess swimming works too.
Unfortunately, when we got to the place in Bartlett they wanted to go, it was waaaay too cold to go in. I ended up sitting on the rocks while the others gamboled about. I did wander about in the shallows a bit though, listening to Cascada and dancing, which was okay. Then Erin's cousin Cody showed up. Reeeeeally cute, and, according to Erin, either gay, or just really metro. Solara and I had to concede on that; the boy did know how to dress. Hmm, must look into this... -ponders-
I finished up the day by going home and watching the last half-hour of a movie called S1M0NE in which Al Pacino invents an actress to save his career as a failing director. Funny shit, but I'd been too exhausted to finish it the night before. Then, all four of us piled into the VW to go and get sweets from Wal*Mart at 9:50 at night. Then, while on the way to drop off Jeremy and Noelle, I stopped at a red light behind a little silver Subaru. I recognized the license plate, so, when the road opened up to two lanes, I darted up past it and waved at Kelly, a girl I worked with at Dunkin' Donuts. I actually ended up racing two or three more times that night and My GOD! What an exhilarating feeling! We went home after dropping them off though, and promptly went to bed.
When I woke up this morning, driving around felt like a dream. Everything was hazy and kind of faded, and I felt more in control of my surroundings than usual. When I got home, I decided to plug away at a post for a while. Sadie's coming over in a bit and we're going to get pizza.

Over at Sadie's for dinner tonight. She told me about SUP being a load of twattery and not telling their users about big site changes. I asked if people were boarding up the arc to somewhere else, and she said yeah and pointed me this way. THE TOBY HAS LANDED. (Save your applause.)
I'm going to roll around and add everyone I think I know. If I don't know you, I'M SORRY. I'm also going to add a bunch of people Sadie tells me are cool, so that's why you're here if you're wondering who the fuck I am. Go look at my info if you want to know more.
